2020 has changed the way we live
A lot has been written on the impact of COVID-19 and economic recession. I focus on the positive energy, lessons learned and our values refreshed. Most of us were so busy in our worldly success and international traveling that we were close to a person on the other end of the globe via social medial but getting further apart from the loved ones we lived with. It was awakening call to prioritize our lives for what we really valued versus what we endeavored to achieve.
Focus on positive Energy
It has made us appreciated the blessing of being able to work, gain the satisfaction of contributing to our community, family and more. The pandemic lead to global lockdown and isolation, it has raised the fear of what will happen next fueled by uncertainty. In these time it is important to focus on the positive energy and opportunities around us. In my experience wellness at home and work can be improved by a few simple steps. Most importantly we are all responsible our own wellbeing and the health of our loved ones and those who we work with.
Control the Future
So you have the control over the future:
- Assess your own health, if you feel unwell (have fever, cough, shortness of breath); call the healthcare provider. Please do not go to work and observe social distancing at home.
- Every morning enjoy the sunlight, feel the privilege of being able to work (either from home or office); gratitude is essential for our wellbeing.
- When entering the workplace ensure that you follow the safety policy, clean your hands as frequently as required by alcohol based hand gel or soap and water.
- Maintain social distancing throughout the day.
- Initiate positive conversations
- Try to avoid unnecessary conversation or forwarding messages on social media about uncertainty of the future related to COVID-19, economical forecast, job security and work place gossips.
- Try to have 1 to 2 hours of interaction with family and friends; either in person or through social media preferably verbal communication.
- Enjoy life, eat healthy, do exercise, keep a positive attitude, and sleep (around 8 hrs.).
